H.R.H. Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duchess of Noto and Duchess of Capri
Her Royal Highness Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies was born in Rome on January 1st, 2005. She is the younger daughter of His Royal Highness Prince Carlo of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House, and Her Royal Highness Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro. She lives between Paris, Monte Carlo, and Rome, embracing a cosmopolitan lifestyle shaped by culture, heritage, and international influences. Passionate about art and fashion, she is equally committed to environmental and social initiatives, using her platform to support causes that align with her values.
EDUCATION
Her

and of Capri, received a cosmopolitan education through homeschooling with
private tutors, following the International Cambridge curriculum and the CNED
(Centre National d’Éducation à Distance), under the supervision of the Monaco
Department of Education. She completed her studies in March 2020, obtaining her
diploma two years ahead of schedule.
She
later pursued her studies at the Istituto Marangoni in Paris, where she
specialized in fashion design, fashion business, and styling. She further
enriched her academic background by undertaking online social sciences courses
through Harvard University.

Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. She also plays the piano and
practices a variety of sports, including tennis, sailing, dance, and judo.

CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ACTIVITIES
Since childhood, Princess Maria Chiara has regularly represented the Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies at official events, religious ceremonies, and charitable initiatives alongside her parents. Alongside her institutional role, she has developed a strong interest in the arts, cinema, and fashion.
In 2022, she undertook an internship with the international auction house Sotheby’s, where she developed a particular interest in high jewellery and gemstones, while gaining insight into auction house operations and the organization of international sales.
Princess Maria Chiara attended acting classes in Monaco and appeared in the film Grace of Monaco alongside Nicole Kidman.
In 2024, she created the cover artwork for the French literary work « Et les vagues criaient Basheba », authored by Princess Anne of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, which has been published internationally.
She has also collaborated with several international fashion houses, including Dior, Roberto Cavalli and Giorgio Armani, taking part in their fashion shows and events, and notably walked the runway for the House of Pierre Cardin.
In 2025, she collaborated with her sister, Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, and the French brand Olympia Le-Tan on the creation of the capsule collection “Dolce Vita del Mezzogiorno”, a project inspired by the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of Southern Italy, aimed at promoting the traditions and savoir-faire of the Mezzogiorno.
HUMANITARIAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Through her involvement in the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Princess Maria Chiara has supported humanitarian projects worldwide.
Princess Maria Chiara gained early hands-on experience through internships at the Monaco Red Cross in 2017, where she received first-aid training, and at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco in 2019, where she deepened her interest in ocean conservation and environmental awareness.
In 2022, she collaborated with the Italian Red Cross in coordinating the delivery of more than thirty tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including medical supplies and essential materials.
Deeply committed to the protection of animals and the environment, she has been actively involved with the World Wide Fund for Nature. In June 2023, she was officially appointed Testimonial of WWF Italy and France, raising awareness and encouraging concrete action on conservation.
Princess Maria Chiara is engaged in numerous environmental and social causes, supporting numerous initiatives, including Ocean 1 and UNICEF. She served as ambassador for Passion Sea, an initiative dedicated to ocean protection, as well as for the Italian association Salvamamme, which she continues to support in favour of women and young girls in vulnerable situations.
She regularly participates in Monaco’s “No Finish Line” charity event, held under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, a solidarity race in which each kilometre completed is converted into donations for disadvantaged children.
She also supports the environmental initiatives of the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, dedicated to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.
Her philanthropic commitment extends to local organisations such as Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco, which assists vulnerable people in the Nice region, and Action Innocence Monaco, which works to protect children from online risks.
A strong advocate against violence toward women, she took part in the “March in March” events in New York in 2016 and 2018, organized by the Women for Peace association under the United Nations.
Her longstanding humanitarian commitment was formally recognized in 2018 when she received the Premio Regina Maria Cristina Benedetta for her international contributions.
HONOURS AND DISTINCTIONS
Princess Maria Chiara is Dame Grand Cross of Justice of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and Dame of the Royal Order of Saint Januarius, two historic distinctions linked to the tradition of the monarchy of the Two Sicilies.
In recognition of her humanitarian commitment, she was awarded the Gold Medal of the Italian Red Cross in 2018, as well as the Medal of Recognition of the Monaco Red Cross in the same year.
Furthermore, a rose cultivated at the Istituto Tecnico Agrario of Caronia in Sicily has been named in her honour, symbolising her attachment to the cultural and natural heritage of Southern Italy.
Today, Princess Maria Chiara continues to embody the values of tradition, creativity, and service, balancing her roles as cultural ambassador, humanitarian, and artist, while developing her interests in fashion, art, and contemporary creative projects.
